Classes, Workshops, and Meet-Ups
The Barn provides classroom space for art instruction that ranges from one day classes to consecutive days workshops to a series of classes offered weekly.
Art Exhibitions
Our city is rich with arts organizations and artists and our two galleries bring an excellent selection of visual arts to a relaxed and approachable venue.
ARTFLIX
This is movie night in the Barn’s Loft. Dave Laug, artist and film lover, hosts this series of films about art and/or artists, providing historical background and a scintillating post-movie discussion, and fantastic door prizes. BYOB. There is a registration fee of $5 to cover administrative costs for this educational program.
Mariemont Preservation Presents — for families with young children
The Mariemont Preservation Foundation graciously underwrites this family cultural series at the Barn, bringing such great events as the Playhouse in the Park Off the Hill touring shows, performances by Children’s Theatre and countless parent/child artmaking events.
Barn Book Club
A book club reading about artists, art, and art history! Once a month enjoy wine, nibbles, and lively discourse with Dave Laug and other literary fans in the Main Gallery at The Barn
Gene Johnston Lecture Series
Gene Johnston is an American/Parisienne living in Paris and the US. She is also a designer of interiors, furniture, fashion, jewelry, and owner of retail stores and art galleries. We are delighted to offer her fascinating lectures about how art informs how we interact with the world. We’re working on the 2023-24 schedule and will let you know about this exciting lecture series soon.
Readers Theatre Project
Kimberly Daniel conceived of and serves as the Artistic Director for these readings of some of the world’s great plays performed by a group of the region’s finest actors. We’re working on the 2023-24 schedule and will let you know about performances soon.
Summer Camp
It happens in July when the Barn hosts week-long, creative hands-on quality instruction in drawing (including Manga), painting, mosaics, weaving, minatures, embroidery, knitting, and much more. For youngsters entering grades 1 – 12 this fall.
