Students will learn how to decorate an empty chicken egg shell in Ukrainian Style using beeswax and dyes.
This old tradition of celebrating the beginning of a new circle of life (Spring) has been a Ukrainian custom for hundreds of years and an and has a history going back more than 2000 years. Ukrainian born, Ivanka Lempitskiy will share her knowledge of how to make beautifully dyed eggs in Ukrainian style along with some history of this art form. Students will decorate and take home at least one egg.
Ivanka Lempitskiy is a Ukrainian-born resident of Mason, Ohio. She’s also a member of the Woman’s Art Club who loves to paint and make jewelry.
